After being picked up in Jerusalem, travel to Ramallah for an eye-witness view of realities of life in the West BankSee a number of settlements, barriers and ongoing traffic and travel restricitions, as you travel to Ramallah. Entering the city through a checkpoint where you see up close the Separation Wall that divides the neighborhood from Jerusalem although it is part of the municipality and the residents pay city taxes. You’ll visit Arafat's Tomb and Museum and walk the streets of this bustling city, now the de-facto Capital for Palestinians in the West Bank.On the trip to Jericho, you'll see additional checkpoints and sections of the Separation Wall, then on to the ancient excavated city, for a view of the Mount of Temptation. You'll visit Hisham's Palace, built in the 8th century during the Umayyad Empire and exploration of Tel Es Sultan, also known as Ancient Jericho.Jericho is one of the oldest excavated cities on the planet, dating back over 10,000 years. The local springs created an oasis in the otherwise arid Jordan Valley, and formed the basis for the successive settlements there. Modern Jericho is a sleepy town of about 15,000 people, and an outpost of the Palestinian Authority within an area over which Israel maintains firm control.
