This Journey through Jordan travels through the country to see some of the most spectacular views, sites and seas.

Through an Off the Beaten Path experience, learn about the historical, political and cultural aspects of the country as you engage with locals, explore ruins and experience traditions.

Day 1 (Monday):  AMMAN OLD CITY

9:00am meet group at hotel lobby for departure (Antika Hotel, Old City)

Start the walking tour visiting the Roman Theater, Citadel, and Temple of Hercules.

The guide will discuss the variety of people who live in today's Amman, their histories, challenges, and political status.

There will also be time for walking through the ancient souks and shopping and enjoying a local lunch in the Old City.

After lunch, visit a local refugee camp established to accommodate refugees who were displaced from Palestine. Learn about the life and history of the camp and meet with local refugees to hear their stories. 

Dig deeper into the rich history of Bedouin and Palestinian culture with a visit to Tiraz Museum, home of the world’s largest collection of Palestinian, Jordanian and Arab traditional dress.  The institution aims to preserve and promote the Palestinian and Jordanian cultural heritage and Arab living traditions.

Day 2 (Tuesday):  JERASH - AJLOUN 

After breakfast, pick up from hotel

Jerash will be our first stop, built over 2,000 years ago.  Stop at a local organization, for an immersive and authentic journey into Jordanian traditions or experience authentic agritourism in Jordan. Connect with local farmers and participate in hands-on activities.

Walk through the ancient streets,  taking in the colonnaded streets, public squares and hilltop temples, while experiencing the history of Jordan.

Then continue towards Ajloun, in the highlands of North Jordan.  Visit the Ajloun Castle, taking the Trail through the fascinating labyrinth of towers and staircases, while its position provides stunning views of landscapes including the Jordan Valley.

Return to Amman

Day 3 (Wednesday): MADABA & MOUNT NEBO 

After breakfast, pick up from hotel in Amman

Head towards a local Women’s Cooperative, just outside of Amman, aiming to make women financially independent and to raise their standard of living, through making cultural handicrafts, like ceramics and embroideries.

Then to Madaba "the City of Mosaics”, which has the oldest known mosaic map of the holy land for a brief stopover.  After that, a visit to Mount Nebo, a sacred mountain, where views of The Dead Sea, Bethlehem and even Jerusalem are possible on a clear day.

Return to Amman

Day 4 (Thursday) KERAK - KINGSWAY - PETRA

Breakfast,

Depart south through the Kingsway, an ancient route that still has marks left from traders, and pilgrims who crossed it centuries ago.

Visit the city of Kerak and its large medieval Crusader Castle

Stop for a light lunch then continue the trip down to the capital of the Nabateans- Petra, with stops en-route for views and discussion.

Day 5 (Friday): PETRA to WADI RUM

After Breakfast,  pick up from hotel in Petra

Visit the “Rose City”, Petra. One of the New 7 Wonders of the World and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Enjoy a guided tour the traditional way - through the narrow canyon of the Siq to the Treasury. See the tombs, theatre, religious high places and temples carved into pink sandstone cliffs.

After the tour of Petra, enjoy lunch and a short transfer to Wadi Rum, with a stop at the abandoned Hejaz railway en-route.

Arrive at the Bedouin camp before sunset, meet the Bedouin guide and witness the amazing sunset.

Day 6 (Saturday): WADI RUM

After breakfast, start the tour of Wadi Rum

Enjoy a local Bedouin Experience then explore Wadi Rum, “Valley of the Moon”,  Jordan’s largest desert and one of the most spectacular desert landscapes in the world.

Board 4×4’s to travel through the desert for about 4 hours for views of this valley cut into the sandstone and granite rock

Have lunch prepared by a local Bedouin in the desert.

Continue down to the lowest point on Earth. The Dead Sea located in The Jordan Rift Valley, is over 400m below sea level. Surrounded by mountains to the east and the hills of Jerusalem to the west.

Day 7 (Sunday): DEAD SEA

Breakfast, 

Morning leisure at Dead Sea.

Spend the morning at the Dead Sea   - Float in the waters and enjoy a mud bath 

Take in the atmosphere and scenery 

Midday pick up for transfer back to Amman
